The agency says Artemis III is planned for 2027, with a 14-day Earth-orbit mission to test systems for future lunar landings.

- NASA says four astronauts will test rendezvous, docking and operations between Orion and lunar lander test vehicles.

Why it matters: The Artemis III tests are intended to reduce risk ahead of NASA’s planned Artemis IV Moon landing mission in 2028.
