The package aims to simplify protection and enforcement for design businesses, following a consultation that closed in November 2025.

- The government says the changes are intended to ease burdens on smaller businesses and modernise the designs system.

Why it matters: The government says the reforms address a system it describes as overly complex for smaller design businesses.
